Severe impulsivity can lead to poor decisions, even in the face of negative consequences, and is implicated in diverse psychiatric conditions including addiction, aggression, bipolar disorder, attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder, and borderline personality disorder. Using state-of-the-art tools in animal models, Dr. Pi aims to quantify impulsive behaviors and identify the neural circuits that drive impulsivity.
